Nach der Abholung vom Hotel fahren Sie direkt nach Chacaltaya , das ist ein Berg mit einer Höhe von 5.321 m. Über 80% des Chacaltaya-Gletschers sind zwischen 1987 und 2007 geschmolzen. Monte Chacaltaya
1 hr - Abholung vom Hotel von 8:00 bis 9:00 Uhr, um direkt nach Chacaltaya zu gelangen. Dies ist ein Berg mit einer Höhe von 5.321 m.ü.M. Über 80% des Chacaltaya-Gletschers sind zwischen 1987 und 2007 geschmolzen. Der Gletscher war einer der höchsten Gletscher Südamerikas. Wenn Sie in der Berghütte ankommen, haben Sie die Möglichkeit, auf den Gipfel des Berges zu gehen. Siehe auch die Berge Huayna Potosi und Illimani; Titicacasee und einige Teile der Stadt El Alto. Amazing Moon Valley and Chacaltaya Mountain.

We were a party of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids. We were picked up from our Hotel by our guide. The whole day was very informative with a friendly and informal feel to this unique experience. Our guide was very amiable and full of knowledge on many different subjects covered during the day. We stopped at numerous locations throughout and discussed many different subjects such as: geography, geology, park natural history , Bolivian life, flora and much more.

Second day and without fear.

The tour is really cool. It was our second day, we felt the altitude sickness as soon as we got to the hotel. The guide did not do a lot of stops for people to recover from the disease. She was the first to reach the summit. Four tourists gave up early on the trail. The beauty of Chacaltaya Mountain and what can be seen from up there is incredible. It's well worth it. No stop for lunch. The Valley of the Moon is a nice tour, as well.

Disappointing Tour and a Tough Climb

We booked a tour to the Valley of The Moon and Mt Chacaltaya out of LaPaz. We were there in November, 2019 during the post election protests. We met our guide, Patti, at a rendezvous point near the Prada. The pick up was about 30 minutes late. The part of the tour to the Valley of the Moon was canceled due to protestors blocking the road. We received no refund. We did drive to Mt Chacaltaya and scrambled to the top. Although the walk is not steep and the path pretty good, be prepared for a tough climb given the altitude of about 17,000 feet. You will need to take numerous stops and the climb will take longer than you expect. The views of the surrounding Andes Mountains was spectacular. Well worth the effort. Overall the trip was fine, but make sure you know what you are getting yourself into. Also, we were somewhat disappointed by the reluctance of our guide to stop and allow us to take pictures at various places on the trip. If you choose to take this trip, be sure to inquire carefully about the logistics.

Frio e bonito com neve.

Fomos numa excursão em torno de 14 pessoas. Bom motorista, pois a estrada é um detalhe a parte (sinuosa e estreita). O local é bonito, a estação está desativada. Quem tem disposição e fôlego pode fazer uma trilha pela montanha. Nós ficamos na estação tirando fotos da paisagem e descansando. Tivemos neve. Após a montanha fomos ao valle de La Luna: é uma região com formações rochosas que foram formadas ao longo dos anos em razão da erosão.
